InTERdependence Day 2011

We celebrate the Fourth of July as Independence Day. But one of the great things about this country is our recognition of our INTERDEPENDENCE. This morning in under an hour I had three demonstrations of this great national trait, which deserves celebration alongside our ancestors’ courageous battle for political liberty:

  • Stacey this morning was in the community garden mucking out the compost pile and tidying the surrounding path so that the rest of us will have better produce and a pleasanter experience making it happen.

  • Susan alerted our synagogue’s listserve that Mollie needs drivers to get her to medical appointments every morning this week and next. By the time I replied to sign up there was only one slot left.

  • Sig and Carolyn posted more helpful information on TOUGH CONVERSATIONS, an on-line blog and clearinghouse devoted to mediation, conflict resolution, and good communication.
